Device Toolkit
(Communication Driver and Protocol Toolkit)
 
The Communication Driver and Protocol Toolkit allows for easy implementation of communication interfaces between FactoryStudio and external devices.
 
The Toolkit was developed entirely with Microsoft .Net languages (C# or VB.NET) – only the creation and handling of the protocol messages is required; as all the read/write functions from the FactoryStudio real-time database points are built-in to the Toolkit.
 
The Toolkit also manages data transport and the network layer. This means that the TCP/IP, UDP, RS232, serial or multi-serial interfaces are automatically managed by the functions available in the Toolkit. A new communication driver can be quickly created as the programming task requires only the packing and unpacking of specific protocol messages; the code necessary to manage the communication interfaces and access to the FactoryStudio real-time database is already an integrated feature of the Toolkit.
 
The source-code for a Modbus RTU implementation is supplied with the Toolkit. When buying the Toolkit, your company can develop and retain control of proprietary protocols, or you can create interfaces to be made commercially available for the marketplace.
 
Module Toolkit (Visual Studio and Expression Blend Toolkit)
 
For custom and advanced applications, Tatsoft offers the Module Toolkit. With this powerful Toolkit you can create new Modules accessing the FactoryStudio real-time database and then create user interfaces with Microsoft Expression Blend as well as applications with Microsoft Visual Studio that interact with FactoryStudio Business Objects.
